A wide range of design is available for Industrial Agitators. Various types of impeller designs like propeller, pitched blade, turbine, gate etc are available for various process requirements. Mixing, solid suspension, chemical reaction and blending are the most common applications.
The mechanical design is usually Top entry type with cantilever shaft. However, for long overhand shaft Pedestal guide is provided for economic design. The drive unit contains 2-widely spaced bearings to take care of axial and thrust loads. The rotational speed is normally kept well within the critical speed. Shaft seals are usually stuffing box type. For Side entry Agitators double mechanical seals are preferred to prevent leakage.
